Norah Cherotich’s Story – From Graduation to Giving Back

Norah Cherotich has reached a significant milestone in her journey. She has successfully completed her Certificate course in Nursing and graduated, a moment of pride not only for her, but for her entire community.

Following her graduation, Norah went on to sit her Nursing Council professional examination, an important step in her career. Her ambition does not stop there. Norah is determined to continue her training and progress to a Diploma in Nursing, a course that will take approximately two and a half years. At present, she is not yet employed, but she remains focused, hopeful, and committed to her future in healthcare.

During the graduation ceremony, there was a powerful message shared about giving back. When Norah gains employment—possibly away from her home village of Lomut—she has expressed a strong desire to return home during visits to offer healthcare support and services to her local community. This spirit of service reflects the values she has carried throughout her training.

The wider community celebration was filled with gratitude and excitement. Community members spoke warmly about One Woman at a Time, appreciating how the charity has gone directly into villages, supporting girls and women and demonstrating the true meaning of its logo — one woman holding another, lifting her up.

The ceremony was a moment of shared pride, hope, and appreciation. It showed what is possible when education, encouragement, and community come together.

Norah’s journey is a powerful example of how supporting one woman can uplift an entire village — and how that support continues to ripple outward through service, care, and leadership.
